Inga Markovic (born January 27, 1976, in Sarajevo) is a wife and a mother of three. She graduated from the Medical College of Vocational Studies in Belgrade and obtained a tertiary education as a Professional Nutritionist-Dietitian in the field of medical science, as well as specialist studies with the professional title of Specialist Vocational Nutritionist-Dietitian in the field of Public Health.
She passed the state license exam of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka. After that, Markovic finished a two-year master’s studies and obtained a master’s degree in ‘Nutrition’ at the University of Sarajevo. She is currently employed at the PHI ‘Sveti Apostol Luka’ in Doboj, in the Department of the Internal Medicine Service’s department of General Internal Medicine.
Markovic launched the Center for Nutrition and Dietetics in 2019 in Doboj. She also worked at the PHI ‘Dom zdravlja’ Doboj in the Diabetes and Hypertension Counseling Center. She is the author of many professional papers and expert articles in the field of nutrition and dietetics, as well as one of the founders and Board of Directors members of the Association of Diabetic Organization of Republika Srpska.
Besides that, Inga Markovic is the founder and member of the Board of Directions of the Association of Diabetic Organization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the President of the Assembly, and the founder of the Associaton of Diabetics named Dijabeta in Doboj.
She is the founder of many diabetics’ associations in Republika Srpska, volunteering and providing humanitarian work in various diabetics’ associations in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2014. She carried out numerous activities to improve the health care of her patients.
Markovic is also an active member of Serbia’s Food Association, the Association of Health Workers of Serbia, and the Association named Obesity Organization of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She participated in many medical and nutritional symposia, forums, congresses, and camps for children with diabetes in the region as a lecturer.
Inga is the only certified nutritionist and educator for type 2 diabetes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to the ACCU CHEK Assist program. To continue building up her knowledge, she actively attends various congresses in the region and abroad and has over fifty certificates in the field of medicine and nutrition. To top it all off, Markovic is the permanent correspondent of the newspaper Avaz on health and nutrition.
